Part 3

30. Apply silicone rubber in four places.

31. Install a new intake manifold gasket.

32. Install the intake manifold.

Intake Torque Sequence:

33. Install and tighten the bolts in sequence in four steps.
1) Tighten to 2.5 Nm (22 inch lbs.).
2) Tighten to 10 Nm (88 inch lbs.).
3) Tighten to 13 Nm (115 inch lbs.).
4) Tighten to 14 - 18 Nm (11 - 13 ft. lbs.).

34. Apply sealer in four places

35. Install the new valve cover gaskets.

36. Install the valve covers.

Valve Cover Torque Sequence:

37. Install and tighten the 14 bolts and the two studs in sequence.

38. Install a new engine front cover gasket.

39. Install the engine front cover.

Timing Cover:

40. Install and tighten the bolts and the studs

41. Apply silicone rubber in six places.

42. Install a new oil pan gasket.

43. Install the oil pan.

44. Install and tighten the bolts and the nuts in sequence.

45. Install the two torx bolts

46. Install a new oil filter.

47. Install the crankshaft position sensor.
1) Install and tighten the bolts.

48. Using crankshaft dampener replacer SST 49 UN01 002, install the crankshaft vibration damper.

Vibration Dampner:

49. Install the new bolt.

NOTE: This bolt is torque-to-yield and must be replaced.

50. Install the bracket.
1) Install and tighten the nuts.
51. Coat threads of oil pressure switch adapter.
1) Use Pipe Sealant with Teflon.

52. Install the oil pressure switch adapter and tighten.

53. Install the new exhaust manifold gaskets.

54. Install the exhaust manifolds.

Exhaust Manifold Torque Sequence:

55. Install the nuts and tighten in sequence.

56. Install the EGR tube assembly.

57. Connect the EGR valve tube to manifold connector.

58. Install a new gasket.

59. Install the bolts.
60. Install the water thermostat and the water hose connection.

Thermostat Cover:

61. Install the bolts.

62. Position the fuel injection supply manifold and the fuel injectors as an assembly.
1) Install a new gasket.
2) Position the fuel injection supply manifold.
