Attaching Manifold Gauges

Refrigerant System Operation Procedure
Manifold Gauge Set Attachment

If a charging station is used, follow the instructions of the manufacturer.

To attach a manifold gauge set to the service port valves, proceed as follows.

1. Turn both manifold gauge set valves fully clockwise to close the high and low pressure hoses at the gauge set refrigerant center outlet hoses. A service port adapter is required to connect the manifold gauge set or a charging station to the high and low pressure service gauge port valves.
2. Remove the valve caps from the high and low pressure service gauge port valves.
3. If the manifold gauge set or charging station refrigerant hoses do not have the quick disconnect fittings on them, install filling adapters on the manifold gauge set low and high pressure hoses.
4. Connect the high and low pressure refrigerant hoses with adapters to the respective high and low pressure service gauge port valves.
5. Connect the hoses attached to the manifold center fitting to refrigerant supply tank and vacuum pump valves.

Refrigerant Recovery Operation
Discharge the refrigerant from the system into an approved recovery unit. With the exception of the clutch cycling pressure switch, be sure to discharge the system before removing any other part.

CAUTION
- Never vent the refrigerant into the atmosphere.
- When using a freon recovery and recycling system, follow the operation instructions provided by the equipment manufacturer.
