Flow Chart No. 12: No Operation In Medium Blower Setting

Flow Chart No. 12 - Symptom - No operation in medium blower settings.

Step 1
Test system operation.
1. Place function control lever in any ON position.
2. Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
3. Cycle blower motor switch between MED/LOW and MED/HI. Listen for blower motor operation.




4. Does blower motor operate in MED/LOW and MED/HI settings?

Step 2
Test blower motor switch.

CAUTION
The ignition switch must remain in the OFF position while performing this test.
1. Remove A/C control from instrument panel far enough to gain access to the electrical connectors.




2. Connect an ohmmeter to B wire and Y/R wire.
3. Position blower motor switch in the MED/HI position and check for continuity.




4. Repeat test steps on B wire and LG/W wire with blower motor switch in the MED/LO position.




5. Does switch test as continuous?

Step 3




Test blower motor resistor.
1. Test heater blower motor switch resistor for continuity using an ohmmeter.




2. Does resistor test as continuous?
