Headlamp: Adjustments
Headlight Aiming
Before making any headlight adjustment, perform the following preparatory steps:
1. Remove ice or mud from under fenders.
2. Make sure all tires are inflated to recommended pressures.
NOTE
^ The condition of the vehicle springs, improper wheel alignment or improper rear axle tracking may affect headlight aim.
3. Make sure the vehicle attitude is typical of how the vehicle is normally operated, i.e., with full load, carrying a trailer, etc.
4. Clean lenses and aiming pads.
5. Check for bulb burn-out and proper beam switching.
6. Make sure light output is well toward normal new light value.
7. Bounce the vehicle and allow to settle.
8. Remove the front grill.
9. Adjust the headlights to meet state regulations. To adjust, turn the two adjusting screws until the headlight is properly aimed.
