Multifunction Switch, Turn Portion Component Test:
PINPOINT TEST 2: ONE TURN SIGNAL/HAZARD LAMP IS INOPERATIVE/ALWAYS ON
Normal Operation
The SJB provides voltage to the indicator flasher relay through circuit (Y/V). The indicator flasher relay routes the voltage to the multifunction switch through circuit (V/BR). When the multifunction switch is placed in the LH TURN position, the multifunction switch routes the voltage to the LH front and rear turn lamps through circuits (GY/Y). When the multifunction switch is placed in the RH TURN position, the multifunction switch routes the voltage to the RH front and rear turn lamps through circuits (V/W). Ground for the indicator flasher relay is provided through circuit (B/Y).
Possible Causes
- Circuit (V/W) open or short to voltage
- Circuit (GY/Y) open or short to voltage
- Circuit (B/Y) open
- Circuit (B/GY) open
- Multifunction switch
CAUTION: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
