Headlamp Switch Component Test:
Normal Operation
The parking lamp relay is integral to the smart junction box (SJB). The parking lamp relay is controlled by the SJB. The headlamp switch is provided voltage through circuit (W/R). When the headlamp switch is placed in the PARKING LAMPS ON position, the headlamp switch routes the voltage to the SJB through circuit V/W). When the SJB receives the voltage signal from the headlamp switch, the parking lamp relay coil is energized and voltage is routed through circuit (GY) to the parking lamps. Ground for the LH front, LH side marker, rear parking and license plate lamp is provided through circuit (B/Y). Ground for the RH front and RH side marker lamps is provided through circuit (B/GY).
Possible Causes
- Fuse
- Circuit (V/W) open
- Circuit (GY) open
- Circuit (B/Y) open
- Circuit (B/GY) open
- Circuit (W/R) open
- Headlamp switch
- SJB
CAUTION: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
