Multifunction Switch, Turn Portion Component Test (Part 2):
PINPOINT TEST 1: THE TURN SIGNAL LAMPS ARE INOPERATIVE
Normal Operation
The SJB provides voltage to the indicator flasher relay through circuit (W/V). The indicator flasher relay routes the voltage to the multifunction switch through circuit (V/BR). When the multifunction switch is placed in the LH TURN position, the multifunction switch routes the voltage to the LH front and rear turn lamps through circuits (GY/Y). When the multifunction switch is placed in the RH TURN position, the multifunction switch routes the voltage to the RH front and rear turn lamps through circuits (V/W). Ground for the indicator flasher relay is provided through circuit (B/Y).
Possible Causes
- Fuse
- Circuit (Y/V) open
- Circuit (V/W) short to ground
- Circuit (GY/Y) short to ground
- Circuit (V/BR) open, short to ground or voltage
- Circuit (B/Y) open
- Indicator flasher relay
- Multifunction switch
