OSS Sensor 5R44E/5R55E Removal / Installation

OSS SENSOR 5R44E/5R55E REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Disconnect output shaft speed (OSS) sensor electrical connector.





3. Remove OSS sensor.
(1) Remove the OSS sensor screw.
(2) Remove the OSS sensor from the transmission.
^ Inspect the OSS sensor O-ring for damage. If damaged, replace the O-ring.





4. Inspect and lubricate O-ring with petroleum jelly.
(1) Install the (1) OSS sensor into the transmission.
(2) Tighten the (2) OSS sensor screw.





5. Connect OSS sensor electrical connector.





6. Lower the vehicle.
