Removal and Installation
1. Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). See DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING.
2. Remove the 2 bolts and position the hood latch release handle aside.
3. Remove the screws and the lower instrument panel steering column cover.
4. Remove the 5 instrument panel steering column opening cover reinforcement bolts and the reinforcement panel.
- To install, tighten to 7 N-m (0.7 kgf-m, 62 in-lb).
5. Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector.
Note:
- The ignition switch should be in the OFF position.
6. Remove the 2 ignition switch screws and the ignition switCh.
- To install, tighten to 6 N-m (0.6 kgf-m, 53 in-lb).
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Repower the SRS. See DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING.
