Camber and Caster Adjustment




CAMBER AND CASTER ADJUSTMENT

1.
NOTE:The upper arm-to-frame bolts have set shims that must be replaced with washers to allow for adjustment of the arm in the frame slot.Index-mark the upper arm-to-frame bolts, then remove and discard the upper arm-to-frame nuts and set shims.

2. Align the index marks and install the washers and new nuts.

- Tighten the nuts until snug.

3. Using alignment equipment and the manufacturer's instructions, measure the caster and camber.

NOTE:The vehicle should be supported by the lower arms to ease movement of the upper arm in the slot.To adjust the caster and camber refer to the following chart.

- When making adjustments that require moving both the front and the rear of the upper arm, move both ends of the arm equally.





5. Tighten the upper arm-to-frame nuts to 133 N-m (13.6 kgf-m, 98 ft-lbf).

6. Recheck the caster and camber settings and adjust as necessary.

7. Check and, if necessary, adjust the front toe. See Toe Adjustment.
