Audio System - Satellite Presets Erased/Can't Be reset: Overview

Bulletin No: 09-009/09

Last Issued: 02/16/2009

Subject:
CERTAIN SATELLITE RADIO STATION PRESETS MAY BE ERASED AND CANNOT BE RESET

APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS

DESCRIPTION

Some customers may experience that their radio station presets of certain satellite radio stations may be erased and cannot be reset. This happens after the Sirius receiver has completed receiving a new firmware version automatically from the Sirius satellite (over-the-air firmware update) or if the Sirius receiver is turned off while the channel map is being updated. When the customer goes to press a preset button, "INVALID" will be displayed as shown in the information display. The problem is an inappropriate design in the audio unit software which has now been changed.

Customers having this concern should have their vehicle's audio unit reprogrammed to the latest version using the following repair procedure and an Audio Unit Software Programming Tool (P/N 1479-06-99).

NOTE:
One Audio Unit Software Programming Tool will be shipped to dealers free of charge the week of 2/16/09. Additional Audio Unit Software Programming Tools can be purchased through MStore.
