DESCRIPTION

Some vehicles may experience an air bag system warning light ON with DTC B1933 or B2233.

^ B1993: Passenger-side air bag module (inflator No. 1) circuit resistance high

^ B2233: Passenger-side air bag module (inflator No. 2) circuit resistance high

This is caused by poor contact at the terminals of the short harness that exists between the passenger-side air bag module and the SAS control module. To correct the problem, the terminals installation procedure has been changed.

Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

e. Secure the new short harness to the vehicle harness using tie wraps, then secure the 0810-117 connector with tape.

5. Connect the negative battery cable.

6. Using M-MDS, check the resistance value between the passenger-side air bag module and the SAS control module as follows:

a. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

b. After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initialization screen of the M-MDS.

1. Select "DataLogger."
2. Select "Modules."
3. Select "RCM."
4. For B1933, select "RES_AB_P" and for B2233, select "RES_AB2_P."

7. Shake the short harness and verify the resistance value does not change.

8. Install the glove box.
