Ignition Timing: Adjustments


1. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
2. Connect a tachometer to the engine.
3. Connect a timing light to the No. 1 spark plug wire.
4. On models with A/T block the wheels and set the transmission onto the "D" position.
5. Aim the timing light at the indicator pin.
6. Loosen the distributor lock nut and rotate the distributor housing until the timing mark on the crankshaft pulley aligns with the indicator pin on the timing chain cover.
7. Tighten the distributor lock nut and recheck the timing.

Ignition Timing: M/T models 5° (at idle and in neutral)
A/T models 5° (at idle and in "drive")
