Vacuum Amplifier: Testing and Inspection
1. Disconnect vacuum hose between No. 3 water thermo valve and vacuum amplifier at No. 3 water thermo valve and connect vacuum gauge to hose.
2. Start engine and run at idle.
3. Disconnect vacuum hose between carburetor and vacuum amplifier at vacuum amplifier and ensure vacuum gauge reads approximately 1.6 to 2.4 inches Hg.
4. Connect vacuum hose to vacuum amplifier.
5. Gradually increase engine speed to 3500 RPM and ensure vacuum gauge reads approximately 3.54 inches Hg.
6. If test results are unsatisfactory, replace vacuum amplifier.
