Description: Please correct the 1983 626 Workshop Manual to show the revised procedure for Inspection of Idle Switch, page 1A:23. The revised sections are indicated by an asterisk.
Fig. 1A-34:
INSPECTION OF IDLE SWITCH
1. Warm up the engine to the normal operating temperature and run it at idle.
2. Connect a tachometer.
*3. Connect a voltmeter to the idle switch terminals as shown in Fig.. 1A:34.
NOTE: Verify that the voltmeter is connected as follows:
Negative probe to LgB Positive probe to LgR
*4. Raise the engine speed to 2000 rpm. Slowly decrease the engine speed and take the readings of the voltmeter.
Between 1300-1200 RPM the voltmeter readings should increase from less than 1.5V to about 12V.
If the readings do not agree with the specification, turn the adjusting screw in 1/4 increments:
Clockwise if the reading is too low. Counter clockwise if the reading is too high.
