DESCRIPTION

The service parts to modify the idle compensator and modified high altitude compensator have been established in order to improve the driveability such as hesitation when starting up after heat soak.

NOTE:
The modified high altitude compensator is applicable to the area where the altitude is higher than 2000 ft.

IDLE COMPENSATOR & HIGH ALTITUDE COMPENSATOR:




MODIFICATION PROCEDURE

1. Remove the air cleaner.

2. Remove and discard the green tubes which connect the idle compensator, thermosensor and inlet manifold.

3. Disconnect the black tube between the canister and the T-joint and discard it.

4. Cut the new vacuum tube in the proper lengths and install them together with the orifice and T-joint as shown in the illustration.

Idle Compensator & High Altitude Compensator:




5. Reinstall the air cleaner.

6. Replace the high altitude compensator (HAC) and bracket with the modified one. (High altitude area only.)

NOTE:
Modified HAC can be identified by the blue mark as shown below.
