Description: In order to reduce the hissing noise from the oil pump during full steering, configuration of the control valve has been changed since the production on and after October 21, 1982. The new control valve is now available as a service part.

POWER STEERING OIL PUMP:
Repair Procedure: 1) Disconnect the high pressure hose of the power steering.
2) Remove the plug from the oil pump.
3) Replace the original oil pump control valve with the countermeasure part (G037 32 627).
4) Using a new "O" ring, install the plug to the oil pump. Tighten the plug to a tightening torque of 32-43 N-m (23.2 - 31.1 ft.lb.).
5) Connect the high pressure hose.
6) Add ATF type F(M2C33F) to the oil pump and bleed the air from the system.
7) Check to see that there are no fluid leaks.
