Disassembly and Reassembly
DISASSEMBLY
1. Remove accelerating pump lever, then disconnect choke rod from main body.
2. Disconnect automatic choke heater electrical connector, then remove air vent solenoid valve.
3. Remove air horn and gasket from main body.
4. Remove float, needle valve and accelerating pump from air horn.
5. Invert main body and remove accelerating pump return spring, pump injector weight and pump inlet and outlet check balls.
6. Remove all air bleeds and jets, noting size of each so they may be installed in their original positions.
7. Remove idle switch, diaphragm and slow fuel cut solenoid valve.
8. Remove attaching bolts and separate throttle body from main body.
9. Drive out spring pin, then remove mixture adjusting screw. Do not remove throttle valve and shaft, the venturi or choke valve and shaft.
REASSEMBLY
To assemble carburetor, reverse disassembly procedure, noting the following:
1. Discard all old gaskets and replace with new ones.
2. Ensure all components are clean and in good condition.
3. Ensure all components are installed in corresponding barrels and are not intermixed.
4. When installing mixture adjusting screw, bottom screw, then back off 3 or 4 turns and install shell, if equipped. Do not install blind cap or spring until carburetor is installed and idle mixture properly adjusted.
