Disassembly
1. Disconnect vacuum sensing tubes for altitude compensator valve and choke delay valve.
2. Disconnect choke heater electrical connector.
3. Remove altitude compensator valve, then the throttle opener and bracket assembly.
4. Disconnect vacuum sensing tube for No. 1 choke diaphragm.
5. On models equipped with manual transmission, remove dashpot and bracket assembly.
6. On all models, remove throttle return spring and sub-return spring, then the throttle return spring bracket.
7. Remove bi-metal spring housing and bracket assembly.
8. Remove fast idle rod, then the hot start assist lever spring and bracket.
9. Remove split pin and washer, if equipped, then the No. 2 choke diaphragm.
10. Remove air horn attaching screws, then separate air horn from main body.
11. Remove float pin, float, needle valve, springs and valve stem.
12. Disconnect accelerator pump rod and secondary throttle valve rod from main body.
13. Remove throttle sensor from main body.
14. Remove main body attaching screws, then separate main body from throttle body.
15. Remove vacuum diaphragm cover attaching screws and the cover. Remove diaphragm return spring, then the clip, diaphragm, housing, lever and gasket.
16. Remove retaining clips, washers and shaft, then the accelerator pump lever.
17. Remove diaphragm and return spring from main body.
18. Remove outlet check valve screw, nozzle, gasket, weight and the valve.
19. Remove inlet check valve seat and weight, then the valve.
20. Remove retainer, blind plug and washer, then the primary and secondary main jets.
21. Remove all remaining air bleeds and jets, noting size of each so they may be installed in their original positions.
22. Cut idle limiter cap off throttle body using a suitable saw, then remove mixture adjusting screw from cap.
