Rear Door Inside Lock Assembly:

DESCRIPTION

If you encounter a 1983-1985 626 with a rear door that will not open from the inside, verify that the inside lock is in the unlocked position.
If the rear door still will not open from the inside, the problem is probably due to a broken clip on the door mechanism. If so, proceed as follows.

Bend The Rod On Rear Door:

1. Bend the rod 5~-7~ as shown.

NOTE:
This modification has been carried out since the end of July, 1985 production.
2. Install a new clip. You may use a stronger clip from the B2000 tailgate as listed below.
