SUBJECT Temperature Control Lever



DESCRIPTION

Sticky water valve may cause the bent temperature control cable. If the temperature control lever binds or operates stiffly, always check the operation of the water valve as shown below.

CHECKING PROCEDURE

1. Disconnect the temperature control cable and rod from the water valve lever.

2. Rotate the water valve lever and check if the lever rotates smoothly. If the water valve lever does not rotate smoothly, replace the water valve.
NOTE:
The lip seal of the water valve has been modified to prevent the valve from sticking since the production date of June, 1984 (except 626 Diesel). Please refer to Service Bulletin Cat. 14, 013/85 for more information.
