Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove horn cap.
2. Mark steering wheel and column shaft, then remove steering wheel retaining nut and the steering wheel.
3. Remove steering column cover, then the heater duct.
4. Remove steering column support bracket, then the set plate, steering gear clamp bolt and coupling bolt.
5. Raise and support vehicle.
6. Disconnect center link from pitman arm using tool No. 490118850C or equivalent.
7. Remove steering gear attaching bolts, then disconnect pressure and return lines from steering gear.
8. Remove steering gear attaching nuts, then the steering gear from vehicle.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
