Head Restraints:
DESCRIPTION
There has been some confusion over the operation of 626 and 323 head restraints. Since the introduction of the new design head restraint on 1986 model 626, no catch release is featured on the base of the guide post. However, the 1986 323 does feature a small release catch on the base of the left guide post for head restraints in that model.
The slot which appears on the base of the left guide post for the 1986 626 is merely to accommodate the end of the catch spring. A catch release lever is not supposed to be in that position on the 626.
ADJUSTMENT OF HEAD RESTRAINTS ON 1986 626
Simply tap the top of the head restraint with the palm of your hand to lower. To raise, just pull up on the restraint.
ADJUSTMENT OF HEAD RESTRAINTS ON 1986 323
Be sure to push the catch release inward before raising or lowering the restraint.
