DESCRIPTION

The lubricant installed at the production line for the automatic transaxle, manual transaxle and power steering has been changed from ATF Type F to Dexron II since the production of June, 1986.

NOTE:
When changing the automatic transaxle or manual transaxle lubricant, refer to the oil label under the hood to determine whether to install ATF Type F, Dexron II or gear oil.

Because of this change, the following modifications have been made:

AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY:

VIN OF PRODUCTION CHANGE:

AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE:

1. The quantity of the drive and driven plates for the low and reverse brake has been changed from 3 to 4.

2. The thickness of the retaining plate has been reduced for use with 4 drive and driven plates.

3. The band servo piston and servo retainer have been modified.

4. The servo piston return spring has been changed from 15 kg to 10 kg spring force.

MANUAL TRANSAXLE:

The material of the synchronizer rings for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear has been changed.
