SUBJECT Air Cleaner Ground

DESCRIPTION

If you have a customer with a 1986 323 complaining of an intermittent misfire or similar complaint, this condition may be caused by an erratic signal being sent to the control unit. Use the following procedure to eliminate any conditions of this type that might be created in this area.



Install a ground wire between the air cleaner and die vehicle body as shown below.

This procedure prevents any erratic signals from being sent to the control unit.



VIN OF PRODUCTION CHANGE
It is recommended that the air cleaner ground wire be installed on all vehicles produced prior to this modification either at PDI or during the regular scheduled maintenance.
