1. Connect a voltmeter to the terminals of the PTC heater connector as shown in Fig. 6.
2. Turn the IG switch to the ON position.
3. Take a reading of the voltmeter.
4. Standard voltage: 11-12V (Cold engine) 0V (Hot engine-coolant temp. is above 60°C or 140°F).

QUICK CHECK: This test must be done with a cold engine.

1. Turn the IG switch to the ON position.
2. Place hand on the throttle body of the carburetor Fig. 7.
3. Check that the throttle body temperature rises.
