EFE Coolant Temperature Switch: Testing and Inspection

1. Remove the water temperature switch from the intake manifold.
2. Place the switch in a container of water with a thermometer Fig. 9.
3. Connect an ohmmeter to the switch.
4. Heat the water slowly and and confirm that the switch has continuity at 60°C (140°F) and below.
5. Before installing, apply sealing tape to the threads of the switch.
6. After installing, check the coolant level and check for leaks.
