RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER - 19604 1986 626 Throttle SensorREPAIR PROCEDURES
1. Check whether there is a yellow or green mark (approx. 10 mm dia.) on the throttle sensor.
If there is a yellow or green mark on the throttle sensor, it is not necessary to replace the sensor. (The throttle sensor has been already modified.) Affix a recall label as instructed in Step 16. If there is no mark on the throttle sensor, proceed with the following operations.
2. Remove the two mounting screws on the throttle sensor.
3. Remove the throttle sensor from the throttle body.
4. Disconnect the coupler from the throttle sensor.
Attachment II
5. Install the modified throttle sensor on the throttle body.
NOTE:
Be sure to install a new O-ring between the throttle body and sensor.
6. Connect the checker to the throttle sensor.
7. Insert a 0.40 mm (0.016 in.) feeler gauge in between the throttle lever and throttle stop screw.
8. Turn the throttle sensor clockwise by about 30 degrees, and then counterclockwise until the checker starts buzzing.
Attachment II
9. Insert a 0.55 mm (0.022 in.) feeler gauge in between the throttle sensor and the throttle stop screw.
10. Confirm that the checker does not buzz. If it buzzes, readjust the throttle sensor following Step 7 to 9.
11. Tighten the two mounting screws.
NOTE:
Since the seaing of the sensor is extremely sensitive and easy to move while tightening the screws, be careful not to move the throttle sensor from the set position when tightening the screws.
12. Again, confirm the setting of the throttle sensor according to Step 7 and 9.
Feeler Gauge Checker

If setting is incorrect, repeat Step 7 through 11.
13. Disconnect the checker from the throttle sensor.
Attachment II
14. Connect the throttle sensor coupler to the replaced throttle sensor.
15. Confirm that the coupler is connected firmly to the sensor by slightly pulling and pushing it.
16. Fill out the recall label with the dealer code and the repair date, and affix it on the passenger side's B pillar.
