DESCRIPTION
If a 1986-87 RX-7 vehicle cranks, but does not start or is difficult to start with a cold engine due to spark plug fouling, refer to the repair procedure in this bulletin.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Spark Plugs
Check the fouling condition of spark plugs. If necessary, replace the spark plugs with the new type.

N339 18 110 Leading (SD10A)
NOTE:
This new type spark plug is a countermeasure part to correct the spark plug fouling problem.
2. Metering Oil Pump Rod
a. Check the operation of metering oil pump rod lever at the throttle body side for smooth movement.
If the lever is binding, the result could be spark plug fouling.
Replace the lever with the modified part, if binding is found.

NOTE:
There is no problem reported regarding the lever of non-turbo model. However, they should be inspected.
b. Check the clearance of the metering oil pump lever. If necessary, adjust by adding or removing shims.
