SUB-Zero Starting Assist Device

Fig. 24 Sub-zero starting assist device valve.:

1. Make sure there is sufficient starting assist fluid in the tank. Refill if necessary.
2. Disconnect the "S" terminal connector from the starting motor.
3. Remove the valve From the intake manifold Fig. 24.
4. Turn the ignition key to the START position and make sure that the starting assist fluid does not spray from the valve. Ambient temperature should be above -20 to -12°C (-4 to 10.4°F).

5. Disconnect the connector from the oil thermo unit on the oil pan, Fig. 16 and ground the disconnected connector to the body.
6. Turn the ignition key to the START position with the air bleeding button of the tank kept pushed down and make sure that the starting assist fluid sprays out from the valve.
