Inspect/Adjust
Idle Speed
Required in all states except California, it is recommended in California.
Drive Belt
Or every 30 months, whichever occurs first. Check For damage and tension. Or every 30 months, whichever occurs first. Inspect for cracks or damage and tension.
Clutch Pedal Assembly
Or every 30 months, whichever occurs first. Inspect operation, free play, and pedal height, adjust as needed.

Body and Frame
Or every 12 months, whichever occurs first. Check all chassis/body nuts and bolts, torque as necessary.
Inspect
Steering
Or every 30 months, whichever occurs first. Inspect steering for operation, looseness, correct free play, fluid leaking or oozing. Lubricate steering linkage joints (if equipped with grease fittings)
Seat Belt Systems
Inspect seat belts, buckles, retractors, and anchors.
Heating and Air Conditioning
Inspect system for leaks and proper compressor operation.
Heat Shield, Exhaust
Or every 30 months, whichever occurs first. Inspect for insulator clearance.
Fuel Supply Line
This maintenance is recommended by Mazda. However, it is not necessary for emission warranty coverage or manufacturer recall liability. Inspect - All except California vehicles. Inspect fittings, connections and components for leaks.
Exhaust System
Inspect exhaust system and heat shields.
Drum Brake System
Or every 30 months, whichever occurs first. Inspect wheel cylinder operation and leakage, lining for wear and drum inner diameter.
Drive/Propeller Shaft
Or every 30 months, whichever occurs first. Inspect drive shaft dust boots for cracking and damage.
Disc Brake System
Or every 15 months, whichever occurs first. Inspect rotors, pads for wear or damage, and calipers for leakage and operation.
Cooling System
Or every 15 months, whichever occurs first. Or every 30 months, whichever occurs first. Inspect coolant level, check hoses for cracks or wear.
Brake Hose/Line
Inspect brake lines, hoses and connections.
Ball Joint
Or every 30 months, whichever occurs first. Inspect ball joints for damage, looseness, and grease leakage.
Replace
Timing Belt
Replace at mileage interval only. Check belt area for debris and fluid leaks. Failure to replace the timing belt at every 60,000 miles (96,000 km) may result in damage to the engine.
Spark Plug
Or every 30 months, whichever occurs first.
Oil Filter, Engine
Replace every 5 months or 5000 miles.
Fuel Filter
This maintenance operation is required for all states except California. However we do recommend that this operation be performed on California vehicles as well.
Fluid - M/T
Engine Oil
Or every 5 months, whichever occurs first. Replace every 5 months or 5000 miles.
Coolant
Or every 30 months, whichever occurs first.
Air Filter Element
