1. Run engine at idle.
2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the EGR control valve.
3. Connect a vacuum pump to the valve Fig. 38.
4. Apply a vacuum of 150mm Hg (5.91 in Hg) or more and make sure the engine runs rough or stalls.
