REMOVAL

Raise and support vehicle. Remove control arm as shown in Fig. 6.

LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHING, REPLACE

1. Place control arm into a suitable vise.
2. Using a hacksaw, cut away projecting portion of the lower arm bushing.
3. Place tool 49B092625 or equivalent onto lower control arm bushing.
4. Place assembly into a suitable vise. Tighten vise handle, and remove bushing from control arm.
5. Place tool 49B0926625 or equivalent onto the new bushing. Repeat step 4 to install busing into control arm.

BALL JOINT PRELOAD CHECK

Install preload attachment tool 4901805108 (1986-87) 490180570B (1988) or equivalent onto ball joint stud. Attach a suitable spring scale to preload attachment tool, then pull on spring scale. Reading obtained should be 3.96-6.82 lbs.

INSTALLATION

Install lower control arm assembly onto vehicle as shown in Fig. 6.
