Installation Procedure
1. Assembling the solenoid valve and vacuum hoses.
A. Without Turbo Assemble the vacuum hoses and the solenoid valve in the repair kit.
B. With Turbo Assemble the vacuum hoses and the solenoid valve in the repair kit.
2. Installation of Solenoid Valve
A. Without Turbo
1) Remove one unused bolt (# 10, upper side) which is screwed in the firewall near the canister.
2) Install rubber mount (# 19) and tighten it.
Tightening Torque: 70-95 in.lb.
3) Install the solenoid valve to rubber mount with nut (# 10) and tighten it.
Tightening Torque: 70-95 in.lb.
B. With Turbo
1) Remove the duty solenoid valve.
2) Install the solenoid valve between the duty solenoid valve and the rubber mount of duty solenoid valve.
Tightening Torque: 70-95 in.lb. (81-109 cm-kg)
3. Installation of Vacuum Tube with Solenoid Valve
A. Without Turbo
1) Remove the original vacuum hose between the pressure regulator solenoid valve and 3-way joint.
2) Install the vacuum hoses which were assembled with the solenoid valve at step 1.
B. With Turbo
1) Remove the original vacuum hose between the pressure regulator solenoid valve and 4-way joint.
2) Install the vacuum hoses which were assembled with the solenoid valve at step 1.
4. Installation of Wire Harness (with & without Turbo)
A. Connect the wire harness (FEY2 67 SHO) to the control unit in the repair kit.
B. Install the control unit to the upper left of the E.C.U. with two screws.
C. Disconnect the wire harness at X-09 (yellow) and connect two ends of wire harness (FEY2 67 SHO) to X-09 (yellow) as illustrated.
D. Install the ground wire (black) with bolt (# 10) and tighten.
E. Fasten the wire harness with three bands as shown.
F. Pass the remaining one end of the wire harness through the rubber seal in the firewall and connect it to the solenoid valve which was installed in step 2.
G. Fasten the wire harness with the band as indicated.
NOTE:
Apply sealing agent fully at the rubber seal, otherwise water or gas fumes will get into the cabin through the clearance of the rubber seal.
5. Adjustment of Idle Speed
Adjust the idle speed to the upper limit of specification according to the 1987 626 Workshop Manual, page 4A-60 (Non-Turbo) and page 4B-66 (Turbo).
6. Attachment of Vacuum Hose Label (only for California spec.)
A. Clean the present vacuum hose label.
