DESCRIPTION

New main bearings have been established on 1983-'87 626, '86 & '87 B2000 and 1987 B2200 vehicles as repair parts to reduce rattling noise from the main bearings when the engine is idling. The new bearings are to be used instead of the current main bearing set (FE30 23 151) on the above vehicles produced prior to April, 1987.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

Select bearings individually that will provide the oil clearances shown below for each main bearing journal.
OIL CLEARANCE APPLICABLE SECTION

0.025 - 0.043 mm (0.0010 - 0.0017 in.) 1, 2, 4, 5

0.031 - 0.049 mm (0.0012 - 0.0019 in.) 3

NOTE:
Oil clearance described in workshop manuals have been changed. The oil clearance shown above is the new specification since November, 1986.
