DESCRIPTION

The thrust bearing on the front strut has been modified to prevent a squeaking or groaning noise and to improve maneuverability.

If you encounter such a customer complaint, you are requested to install the new plastic spacer bearings on both struts.


AFFECTED VEHICLES

All 1986 and 1987 626.



REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Disassemble the front strut as shown below in accordance with the procedure described in the workshop manual.
2. Discard the original washer, seal and thrust bearing.
3. Reassemble the front strut with the new plastic spacer bearing.

NOTE:
Be sure not to apply any lubricant on the plastic spacer bearing.



PARTS INFORMATION
NOTE:

When you install the plastic spacer bearing, please discard the seal, thrust bearing and washer.
