EC-at Switch & Indicator


Checking operation

1. Turn ignition switch to On position.
2. Check that mode indicator illuminates at each position.
3. Check that O/D OFF indicator illuminates while button is out.
4. If switch is not operating correctly, check EC-AT switch or indicator.

Checking Continuity

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove center console.
3. Disconnect EC-At switch connector.
4. Check continuity of terminals, Fig. 12. In economy mode, there should be continuity between terminals b and d. In power mode, there should be continuity between terminals c and d. With O/D button out, there should be continuity between terminals e and f.
5. If continuity is not as described, replace switch.

Checking Mode Indicator

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove mode indicator.
3. Disconnect mode indicator connector.
4. There should be continuity between terminals a and b and between terminals a and c, Fig. 13.
5. If continuity is not as described, replace switch.

Checking O/D OFF Indicator

1. Remove combination meter.
2. Connect 12 volts to a 5 terminal and ground to c 9 terminal, Fig. 14.
3. Check that O/D OFF indicator illuminates. If not, replace bulb.
