DESCRIPTION

Some 1987 RX-7 vehicles equipped with air conditioning systems may encounter a buzzing noise caused by the suction side of the A/C flexible hose vibrating against the firewall.

When this condition occurs, check the retaining clamp (0000-67-A43A-6A) to see if it has lost its crimping ability. If it has, it can be easily corrected by following the steps below:

1. Loosen nut securing the clamp to the hose bracket.
2. Crimp the clamp as shown in the illustration.
3. Retighten nut.

This will give the clamp better crimping ability.

A countermeasure clamp was introduced on March 23, 1987. The new and old clamps can be distinguished by checking the manufacturer's part number stamped on the clamp.

NOTE:
Mazda's part number has not changed.
