DESCRIPTION

The following criteria should be used when hairline cracks are found on the mating flange of the turbocharger. In most cases, the cracks are found on the surface of the inner wall where exhaust heat reduces the strength of the flange material.

NOTE:
Cracks will not extend in length because the outer wall temperature is comparatively low.
