Adjustment With Ohmmeter
Fig. 27 Checking Throttle Sensor With Ohmmeter.:
1. Disconnect connector from throttle sensor and connect ohmmeter to throttle sensor terminals B and D Fig. 27.
Fig. 30 Inserting Thickness Gauge.:
2. Insert a .02 inch thickness gage between throttle stop screw and stop lever Fig. 30.
3. Loosen two throttle sensor attaching screws and rotate sensor clockwise approximately 30°, then rotate it counterclockwise until continuity exist.
Fig. 31 Thickness Gauge Chart.:
4. Replace gage with a .027 inch thick one and ensure continuity does not exist Fig. 31. If continuity exist, repeat steps 3 and 4.
5. Tighten two attaching screws. Be careful not to move throttle sensor from set position when tightening screws.
6. Open throttle valve fully a few times, then recheck adjustment.
7. Check resistance between terminals, then open throttle valve fully and check resistance between terminals. Resistance between terminals A and B should be approximately 500 ohms with throttle valve closed and approximately 4.5k ohms with throttle valve open and resistance between terminals B and C should be 3---7k ohms regardless of position of throttle valve.
