Throttle Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection
Fig. 26 Checking Throttle Sensor With Voltmeter.:
TERMINAL VOLTAGE
1. Remove rubber boot from connector.
2. Turn ignition switch on.
3. Check voltage between each terminal and ground, Fig. 26.
Fig. 74 Throttle sensor connector terminal identification. Turbo:
4. Then open throttle valve and check voltage between each terminal and ground, Fig. 74.
Fig. 28 Throttle Sensor Voltage Chart.:
5. Refer to voltage chart Fig. 28. If voltage is incorrect at terminal D only, check throttle sensor setting.
6. If voltage is incorrect at terminals other than D, check resistances of throttle sensor, terminals 2A, 2C, 2E and IG of EGI control unit and the wiring harness.
7. Install rubber boot to connector.

RESISTANCE INSPECTION
8. Check throttle sensor setting, if necessary, as follows:
a. Disconnect connector from throttle sensor.
b. Connect ohmmeter to throttle sensor Fig. 27.
c. Insert specified thickness gages between throttle stop screw and stop lever.
d. Insert .02 inch gage and ensure there is continuity between terminals B and D and insert .027 inch gage and ensure there is no continuity between terminals B and D.
