Removing Tie Rod End From Knuckle:
5. Separate the tie-rod end from the knuckle with SST 49 0118 850C or equivalent.
6. Remove the caliper assembly from the knuckle and hang it from the strut.
Removing Knuckle From Strut:
7. Remove the clamp bolt and nut (7) from the ball joint, and push the lower arm downward to separate the knuckle and the ball joint.
8. Remove the knuckle mount bolts (8) and separate the front hub and knuckle from the driveshaft carefully to avoid damage to the inner seal.
Separating Wheel Hub From Rotor Assembly:
9. Using SST 49 G030 725 or equivalent, remove the wheel hub from the knuckle.
Marking Hub/Disc Assembly For Removal:
10. After marking the disc plate and wheel hub as shown, remove the four bolts from the back of the disc plate and remove from the hub.
Installation:
Assembling Disc Plate And Wheel Hub:
1. Align the disc plate and wheel hub matching marks, assemble the plate and the hub, and tighten the mount bolts to 44-54 Nm (33-40 ft.lbs).
Press Wheel Hub And Knuckle Assembly Together:
2. Using SST 49 B001 727 or equivalent, press wheel hub into knuckle assembly with 2500 Kg (5500 lbs) pressure.
Install Knuckle To Driveshaft Then To Ball Joint/Strut Housing:
3. Mount the front hub and knuckle to the driveshaft first, then mount the knuckle to the lower arm ball joint and to the strut housing. Torque strut bolts to 93-117 Nm (69-86 ft.lbs) and lower arm ball joint bolt to 43-54 Nm (32-40 ft.lbs).
4. Install the caliper assembly and torque mount bolts to 39-49 Nm (29-36 ft.lbs).
5. Using a new driveshaft locknut, torque to 157-235 Nm (116-174 ft.lbs) and stake securely to groove on driveshaft.
Stake Locknut After Tightening:
NOTE: Do not use a pointed tool for staking and make sure the wheel hub turns freely by hand when done.
Torque Tie-Rod Bolt And Install New Split Pin:
6. Install the tie-rod end to the knuckle and torque nut to 29-44 Nm (22-33 ft.lbs) and secure with new split pin.
7. Install the wheel and torque lug nuts to 88-118 Nm (65-87 ft.lbs).
8. Remove jack stands and lower vehicle.
