Battery Overcharged
1. With all electrical loads off and brake pedal released, check output voltage between S terminal and ground at engine speed of 2500-3000 RPM. If voltage is 14.1-14.7 volts, alternator is satisfactory.
2. If voltage is greater than 14.7 volts at 68° F, IC regulator is malfunctioning.
3. If voltage is less than 14.1 volts at 68° F, proceed as follows:
a. Turn ignition switch on.
b. Turn all electrical loads off and release brake pedal.
c. Check voltage between S terminal and ground. If battery voltage is present, IC regulator is malfunctioning. If not, there is a problem in wiring harness.
