DESCRIPTION
Please note the following two subjects when installing the air conditioner systems on the 1988 323, B-Truck and RX-7.
Subject 1: Ground bolt at the fire wall (323 only)
A/C kits produced between January through March 1988 have been packed with the wrong type bolt, (6 mm x 20 mm), for ground wire installation to fire wall. Use of this bolt may cause poor continuity of ground wire, resulting in an inoperative additional fan, and poor cooling performance. The correct type of bolt to use is a self tapping bolt for proper grounding.
During the installation of the 323 air conditioner system or P.D.I., please check the additional fan's operation. The additional fan will work when the compressor is engaged. If the additional fan is found to be non-operational, check the ground wire for proper ground.
Affected air conditioner kit: JANUARY 1988 - MARCH 16, 1988 A/C kit production (Please refer to the serial number sticker on the cooling unit for production date.)
Subject 2: Low pressure switch connectors (323, RX-7 and B-Truck)
It has been found that the excess rubber on the following connectors may cause poor continuity resulting in the compressor being inoperative.
If you encounter this condition, please check these connectors. In most cases, the excess rubber is easily removed.
