DESCRIPITION


If the following occurs within 15 seconds after a cold start (engine temperature 17-27~C [64-80~F]) the vehicle's air/fuel mixture may be too lean.

Symptoms:

^ Engine speed drops 500-750 rpm for a few seconds after starting the engine, and occasionally stalls.
^ Engine speed drops below 500 rpm when shifting from "N" or "P" to "D" or "R" and occasionally stalls.

To confirm the problem source, check the engine operation after a cold start as indicated in the Inspection Procedure. After confirmation, install the service repair kit described in this bulletin to repair the vehicle.

This bulletin replaces the information contained in Service Bulletin, Category F, No. 006/90. Please refer to your 1990 Service Bulletin book for this bulletin.


PRODUCTION CHANGE

The repair kit used in this bulletin applies to 1988-'89 vehicles only. Modifications were made during vehicle production starting in 1990 to prevent the conditions described in this bulletin.
