SUBJECT: 1987 626 & 1988 323 Special Service Program --- SSP07
Mazda Motor Corporation has decided to conduct a special service program for the automatic transaxle (hereinafter ATX) on certain 1987 626 and 1988 323 models starting on February 19, 1988.
Some 1987 626 and 1988 323 models may have a failure on the drift on the ball seat located on the forward and reverse clutch assembly in ATX. This may result in less effective driving performance. If this condition is left as it is, there is a possibility that the forward and reverse clutch may burn out.
Detailed procedures for this program are shown on attachment sheets I and II. The letter to be sent to the owners is attachment sheet III.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact your District Service Manager or Regional/Distributor office.
Your cooperation in carrying out this service program is greatly appreciated.
