Rear Crossmember Replace (W/4 WHEEL STEERING)
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove components in numerical order, Fig. 13. Refer to ``4 Wheel Steering'' for removal of rear steering assembly.
3. Reverse removal procedure to install, referring to ``4 Wheel Steering'' for installation of rear steering assembly, and note the following:
a. When installing crossmember, loosely tighten attaching nuts, then lower vehicle and torque nuts to 69-86 ft.lbs. with vehicle unloaded.
b. Install lower arm to crossmember, and the trailing link to lower arm and body, then lower vehicle and toque bolts on lower arm side to 66-76 ft.lbs. and the bolts on body side to 46-69 ft.lbs.
c. Torque stabilizer brackets to 32-40 ft.lbs., then lower vehicle and check torque with vehicle unloaded.
d. Tighten stabilizer control link nuts so that there is .51 inch (13 mm) of thread exposed.
e. Bleed brake system.
