NO.2 COOLING FAN RELAY
Bulletin No. 036/88
Issued 11/4/88
Revised
DESCRIPTION
When diagnosing an insufficient cooling complaint on a 1988 626/MX-6, please check the engine cooling fan (main fan) operation.
CORRECT FAN OPERATION When both the A/C and the blower motor switches are on, the engine cooling fan should be operating.
INCORRECT FAN OPERATION Two kinds of incorrect fan operations have been found due to water entering the No.2 cooling fan relay, which is located on the receiver/drier tank.
NOTE:
The No.2 cooling fan relay was installed during A/C kit installation. However, the relay position has been changed so that it is installed on the hose bracket as described in Service Bulletin, Category 16 no. 028/88 (dated 5/27/88).
If you encounter these kinds of incorrect fan operation, please check the location of the relay and, if necessary, install a new relay according to the instructions on the back page of this Service Bulletin.
AFFECTED VEHICLE
Incorrect fan operation may occur on the vehicles which the A/C kit was installed prior to the above mentioned Service Bulletin. (The No.2 engine cooling fan relay is installed on the receiver/drier tank.)
NOTE:
O.E.M. air conditioner from MMUC is not affected.
