Throttle Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect throttle sensor connector from throttle sensor and connect ohmmeter between terminals A and D, Fig. 76.
2. Check resistance. Resistance should be 3.5-6.5k ohms.
3. Connect ohmmeter between terminals B and D.
4. Check resistance while gradually opening throttle valve. With throttle valve fully closed, resistance should be approximately 1k ohms. With throttle valve fully open, resistance should be approximately 3.5-6.5k ohms.
5. If resistances are not as described, check throttle sensor adjustment as described under ``Idle Switch.'' immediately following.
