1. Remove water thermo sensor from cylinder head Fig. 30.
2. Place sensor in water with thermometer and heat water gradually.
3. Check resistance of thermo sensor with ohmmeter. Resistance should be 14.5-17.8k ohms at (-)4°F, 2.2-2.7k ohms at 68°F, 1-1.3k ohms at 104°F, 500-640 ohms at 140°F and 280-350 ohms at 176°F.
4. If resistance is not as described, replace water thermo sensor.
